a new era

Our aim is to regenerate human cells, not to achieve immortality, but to stave off the diseases of old age that drive us to the grave.

We are here to ensure that old age is enjoyed, not endured. Extending lifespan should not merely mean adding another 40 years of ill health. Instead, the focus must be on increasing healthspan—the period during which we remain healthy and active.

Data shows that while humans are living longer, many are suffering from disability and a diminished quality of life due to ageing. Our goal is to address this issue by striving to keep people healthier for as long as possible. Ideally, one should stay healthy and then pass away peacefully in their sleep. We consider achieving this peaceful end to be the ultimate gift of a well-lived life.

Today, our ageing population is living longer without necessarily living healthier. Therefore, prevention and maintenance are crucial and must begin early.

It is essential to recognise that illnesses have incubation periods. One may appear well one day and be seriously ill the next. Maintaining health requires significant determination. While factors such as regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep are within individual control and contribute to good health, the regeneration and rejuvenation of the body on a cellular level, including vital organs, are not.

This is where HumanLab steps in. With our proprietary MasterCells Infusion, control over cellular regeneration is now in your hands. Our objective is to help you maintain excellent health, prevent illnesses, and manage them effectively. We are confident that MasterCells enhances the body’s natural ability to achieve these goals and supports your proactive efforts.

We are entering a new era where 50 is the new 30, 70 is the new 40, and 80 is the new 50.

Please To Meet You
Rosie Wong

Laboratory Director, Co-Founder

Bachelor of Science (Honours). She is the Lab Director & Co-Founder with more than two decades of experience in Stem Cell Expansion.

Growing up as the eldest of six, life was far from easy, but it was rich with valuable experiences. My father, a skilled mechanic from Klang, provided for us, though money was often tight. Despite receiving a scholarship, financial constraints prevented me from pursuing my dream of studying medicine. Consequently, I decided to follow a path in biotechnology.

Starting work at a private cord blood bank in 2004 was an eye-opener. I learned about the practical applications of stem cells for children with leukemia, which was both enlightening and heart-wrenching. During my tenure, I was fortunate to engage with leading doctors and professors, gaining insights that went beyond traditional textbooks.

One crucial realisation was that the future of healthcare lies in regenerative medicine. Imagine repairing organs at a cellular level using Mesenchymal Stem Cells, potentially eliminating the need for transplants entirely.

This groundbreaking technology has the potential to save countless lives from complications related to heart disease or renal failure, and I was resolute in my goal to make it a reality. My motivation was deeply personal: my father suffered from kidney disease, and I wanted to harness this new technology to help him. Unfortunately, the scientific advancements were not yet sufficient, and he passed away before we could make a difference.

This personal loss led to the creation of Nexus Scientific, with a mission to make this technology accessible to the public. After persistent efforts, we succeeded as an OEM producer, and now, through HumanLab, we are advancing our efforts further.

Our MasterCells infusion represents a significant breakthrough, and we are hopeful that it will positively impact many more lives. Ultimately, this is the core of our mission.

Jack Ham

CEO & Co-Founder with more than 2 decades of experience.
First person to infuse Mesenchymal Stem Cells in Malaysia.

I was born and raised in a small town where my father worked as a rubber planter. In 2002, I joined a private cord blood bank and played a crucial role in raising public awareness about stem cells. My focus was on making the complex science of stem cells, particularly their use in treating blood disorders, more comprehensible. For many years, I acted as a storyteller in this field.

Although I am not a scientist, I was deeply convinced that the general public deserved greater access to the latest developments in medical science. My challenge was to translate intricate scientific terminology from academic journals into language that was accessible to everyone, regardless of their educational background.

In 2010, my partner and I founded Nexus Scientific, becoming the first in Asia to promote the consumer use of Mesenchymal Stem Cells. The name "Nexus" reflects our role as a bridge between cutting-edge scientific research and public understanding. At that time, the field of regenerative medicine involving Mesenchymal Stem Cells was still emerging, even among medical professionals, and pioneering this area was both challenging and met with resistance.

Nexus Scientific soon established itself as a key player, specialising in supplying Mesenchymal Stem Cells to doctors and other companies. As the sole supplier in the region, we achieved success by focusing on producing high-quality cells and resisting offers for aggressive expansion. However, the pandemic brought significant changes. With many of our clients shutting down, we recognised the need to adapt. It was no coincidence that Mesenchymal Stem Cells were found to be effective in alleviating the symptoms of the Coronavirus and aiding survivors in recovering from the damage caused.

This led us to establish HumanLab, through which we now serve the public directly. We remain committed to bridging the gap between scientific innovation and everyday people by offering top-quality stem cells at a reasonable price, thereby making these advancements accessible to a broader audience.

We have refined our techniques and enhanced cost efficiency while maintaining our commitment to quality. Operating as a boutique laboratory allows us precise control over our processes, resulting in our MasterCells Infusion.
Today, we take great pride in working directly with our customers. Helping them achieve their health goals gives our work purpose and meaning. Their trust inspires us to continually improve and excel.

A Journey in Cell Therapy & Innovation
Leading the Way in Stem Cell Research and Innovation
Associate Professor Chua Kien Hui

Phd (Physiology: Tissue Engineering) (UKM), Master of Biotechnology (UM), Biomedical Sciences (HON) (UKM)

As the Head of the Department of Physiology at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) since August 2021, I feel privileged to be part of a vibrant community dedicated to exploring the fascinating fields of physiology, cell therapy, tissue engineering, and stem cell applications. These disciplines are incredibly rewarding, and I find myself constantly learning and growing alongside my colleagues and students.

My journey into stem cell research began in the early 2000s. With a background in tissue engineering and human cell biology, I had the opportunity to work in cGMP human cell production and develop human cell models for bio-active compound evaluation. Each experience along the way has shaped my understanding and deepened my appreciation for the potential that stem cells hold in transforming healthcare.

I’ve been fortunate to publish over 120 scientific papers, but I see these contributions as part of a broader dialogue in the scientific community. One piece that holds special meaning for me is my book, Growing Human Chondrocytes and Cartilage Tissue Engineering. In it, I share insights on creating effective growth mediums for cartilage regeneration. Writing this book was an opportunity to synthesise knowledge and hopefully inspire others to explore this important area.

Innovation is a journey, not a destination, and I’ve been grateful to be involved in several patents, trade secrets, and trademarks throughout my career. Each of these represents a small step forward in our collective efforts to advance cell therapy and tissue engineering. It is heartening to know that, together, we are working towards meaningful improvements in patients' lives.

As I look to the future, I remain hopeful and eager to continue learning and collaborating with others in this evolving field.
